Community Grants

Each year, Auburn Rotary club provides grants to local nonprofit organizations as part of its community grants program. Grants are provided through fundraising and membership in the club. The Community Market was the recipient of the largest grant.

2016 Recipients of Community Grants

Organization Project Description
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lee County funding to cover campers participation in dramatic arts summer camp, including camp T-shirt, snacks, transportation, supplies, and other personal costs
Community Market (Food Bank) acquisition of food for distribution by the Community Market
Lee County Literacy Coalition funding to purchase new equipment
Lee County Partnership for Children childcare expenses for low-income, working parents
Mercy Medical Clinic to help to provide medical services to patients that cannot afford to pay for services
Salvation Army of Lee County to purchase meals for seniors to receive two meals a week through Senior Feeding Program
Alabama Rural Ministry to make home repairs for an elderly resident in the community on fixed incomes and to a local church
Habitat for Humanity to provide construction materials for the framing and building of a home for a family in need in the community
Twin Cedars Child Advocacy Center to support a program designed to inform adults about child sexual abuse
Summer Success Academy to purchase learning materials to help low income students retain the information they learned
Youth for Christ to send kids of low income families to a Christian summer camp
Auburn Theraputic Summer Day Camp to purchase art supplies for the program
East Alabama Birth Village to purchase coping equipment to families that lost a child during pregnancy
Rape Counslers of East Alabama to provide education to the community regarding bullying and help to those affected
Auburn Public Library STEM Initiative to purchase materials to provide a year-long STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) program
Sheriff's Girls Ranch to purchase cows to provide a food source to children in care
