Rotary Welcomes Author of “The Unlikeliest Auburn Tiger”, Lewis Colbert

Posted May 20, 2014

The Auburn Rotary Club welcomed to its May 7 meeting Lewis Colbert, a 1988 Auburn University graduate who overcame being born with a club foot to eventually becoming a first-team All-American punter who still holds several Auburn records for career punts and yardage. Colbert, who started his Auburn football playing career as a walk-on, chronicles his time at Auburn and the adversities he faced growing up with a disability and without a father in his book “The Unlikeliest Auburn Tiger.” He credits the support from teammates and Coach Pat Dye as the strength behind his drive and determination to overcome his obstacles, and hopes his book will be an inspiration to others who are facing physical or emotional challenges in their lives.
