Dr. Barry Fleming on Opelika Wood Duck Preserve and Siddique Nature Park

Posted June 26, 2012

Dr. Barry Fleming, for the Auburn College of Liberal Arts, addressed the Auburn Rotary Club about the new Opelika Wood Duck Preserve and Siddique Nature Park. The city of Opelika and an Auburn Rotarian (Dr. Irtaza Siddique) donated land to host a permanent preserve for birdwatchers and nature lovers not only in the Auburn/Opelika area but from across the country. The Park & Preserve sit on over 75 acres of land with a large pond. Nature trails and duck blinds for watching the native and migratory birds are some of the features of this park. Located near the Grand National Golf course (off Waverly Parkway) the preserve admission to the park is free to the public. It’s a great place to see birds and/or enjoy nature.
